Baxter Credit Union manager honored as unsung hero

Crystal Lake, IL – Baxter Credit Union (BCU), announced today the recognition of Mr. Brad Stewart, Crystal Lake Service Center Manager, as “Unsung Hero” by Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and radio station Y103.9.

Unsung Hero Awards are awarded to recognize individuals who are making a difference in their communities. Each month, three nominees (nominated by listeners) and their stories are posted on Y103.9’s website for listeners to vote on. Good Shepherd Hospital donates $500 to the winner’s charity of choice.

On December of 2007 Brad was recognized for his efforts in organizing a program, along with his BCU team, which raises money for a different local charity each month. The development of this program has been successful in raising funds for many worthy causes in the community. Some of the organizations who have benefited from his efforts include: Home of the Sparrow, Family Alliance, Family Health Partnership Clinic, The Crystal Lake Food Pantry and The Light Center among others.

An active community member, Brad recently organized a benefit concert to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association. He also joined the Board of Directors for the locally-based Home of the Sparrow that provides help and housing for women and children in need.
