Baxter Credit Union welcomes crystal lake resident to its board of directors

May 10, 2006—Crystal Lake, IL—BCU (Baxter Credit Union), a not-for-profit credit union open for membership to all McHenry County, today announced the appointment of Crystal Lake resident, Mr. Michael J. Curran to the BCU board of directors, effective May of 2006.

For several years BCU has been working with and providing services to Select Employee groups and residents in McHenry County. In November of 2004, BCU opened a new service center in Crystal Lake which provides a full range of products and services including; savings, deposit accounts, mortgages, loans, credit cards as well as brokerage and financial planning services.

“We are very excited to have Mike join our board. He will be a valuable addition to our volunteer board of directors. Moreover, his many years of experience as a Crystal Lake business executive and resident will be invaluable to helping us grow our support and services to Crystal Lake and McHenry County residents”, said Michael G. Valentine, President and CEO, BCU.

Mr. Curran is Co-President and a Director of Curran Group Inc., headquartered in Crystal Lake, IL. Curran Group is a diversified holding company with interests in road construction, porcelain tile manufacturing, railroad related contract services, and the manufacturing of paint finishing systems.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Curran has served on the Board of the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association seven of the last nine years, five times as Treasurer and three as Chairman of its’ Technology Committee. Mr. Curran is also active in Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, having served on its’ Board of Directors for six years and its’ Advisory Council for 3 years. He is an active volunteer with the Prairie Ridge High School Boosters Club currently serving as its’ President and Chairman of the Golf Outing Committee. Most recently Mr. Curran is a founder and director of Alpine Children’s Charity.

Mr. Curran holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Miami University with special interests in accounting and information technology.
