Vernon Hills, IL—Baxter Credit Union (BCU) and one of its largest Select Employee Groups, Boston Scientific Corporation (BSC), partnered to develop an emergency loan program for employees in flood-ravaged Spencer, IN.

BSC employs a number of residents in the west central Indiana town of 2,500, who suffered tremendous losses to their properties and businesses with the recent flooding that has plagued much of the Midwest. BSC and BCU management teamed up to offer an emergency signature loan program that could be repaid without interest charges for six months, for up to $2,500. Members needing longer to repay were eligible for significantly reduced rates for up to three years.

Additionally, BCU employees traveled to the Spencer, IN, BSC location to provide loan assistance for flood victims. One grateful member, BSC employee Darien Meyers, raved about the credit union’s service and compassion in a time of need.

“I’m proud of the swift action and consideration that BCU management took to help our members. What a terrific example of ‘People Helping People,’” said Mike Valentine, BCU President/CEO.

With over $1.4 Billion in assets, BCU currently serves more than 138,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Please call 1-800-388-7000 or visit www.BCU.org for more information.
